Zacapa Centenario 23 is a blend of different distillates that have all been aged between 6 and 23 years. This delicious dark rum is known for its sweet influences, as well as hints of spices and a hint of oak.
Zacapa 23 is produced by Industrias Licoreras de Guatemala, which was formed in 1944 from the merger of four distilleries. This company is the largest rum producer in Guatemala and only supplies high-quality rum. This 23 rum was invented by the Spanish physician and chemist, Alejandro Burdaleta. He distilled rum from sugar cane syrup and then aged it using the solera system.
This Zacapa Centenario 23 is the showpiece of the distillery, as is evident from the fact that this rum has already been declared the best premium rum five times at the Caribbean Weeks’ Rum Festival. The rum owes its soft taste to successive maturation in bourbon, sherry and finally in Malaga barrels. Together this creates an unprecedented taste sensation that has won the hearts of many enthusiasts over the years.
