Matusalem Gran Reserva 15 years 70cl is a well-known name in the field of rum from the Dominican Republic. This rum matures via a solera system, resulting in consistent quality. In a solera system, the Maestros Roneros (Rum Masters) use rows of barrels that are stacked with the oldest distillates at the bottom and the youngest at the top and are connected to each other. When contents are filled from the barrels, they are replenished from the rows above them. This contributes to the creation of a rum with consistent quality.
Sweets and hints of fruit are present in both the smell and taste. What is also noticeable is a pleasant softness, which makes the rum fairly light in taste but at the same time has enough body and depth.
