We know Kilchoman Sanaig as a classic within the Kilchoman Distillery’s offering. This single malt whiskey is named after an inlet on the rugged Atlantic coast of Islay and matures in a mix of bourbon and sherry casks, with the sherry casks representing a relatively high share of the total.
Maturing in ex-sherry casks enriches Kilchoman Sanaig with hints of sweets, dried fruit and herbs. This balances house style characteristics, mainly citrus and smoke influences, in a tasteful way. Hints of oak, caramel, fruit zest and dark chocolate provide more depth.
