Ardbeg Corryvreckan takes its name from a well-known whirlpool in the water on the north coast of Islay. This single malt whiskey is known as the most medicinal whiskey from Ardbeg’s core range. Powerful, complex and distinct in taste, combining characteristics from the house style with rich, medicinal hints. Ardbeg Corryvreckan is bottled at 57.1% alcohol.
Shake your glass once you have poured your Corryvreckan; aromas of charcoal and linseed oil develop into hints of dark chocolate, berries and muscovado sugar. Surrounding this you will find complex notes of cherries, pine needles, vanilla and herbs. Pepper flavors open on the palate with pronounced hints of seaweed. This gradually changes to espresso, dark fruit and bitter almonds. The aftertaste is long, dry and spicy with a hint of smoke.
