Ardbeg An Oa owes its name to the Mull of An Oa, this is a small piece of land that juts out into the sea and this partly protects the coast of Islay from the harsh climatic conditions of the Atlantic Ocean. With the Ardbeg An Oa, the distillery offers you the opportunity to discover a more accessible side of Ardbeg whisky. This single malt matures in a combination of barrels: ex-Pedro Ximénez, virgin oak and ex-bourbon barrels, resulting in a rich and interesting flavor profile.
The scent of the An Oa combines strong notes of black pepper and pine needles with a hint of smoke. Rich chocolate flavors come together with hints of charcoal and meaty notes, followed by a long and salty finish.
