Deep amber

Nose:
Rich aromas of complex and dominated oak aroma, accompanied by sweet and tangy fruitiness like orange and dried fruits. Vanilla, toffee and chocolaty aromas also linger on the nose.
-
Palate:
The complex wood aromas on the nose have the same pleasant welcome on the palate. Lots of depth, warming wood and sherry flavours. Flavours such as cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg intwine with the powerful balanced oak present on the palate. A little bit of bittersweetness as well.
-
Finish:
Long complex finish. Long-lasting spices from oaky notes with a bit of burn in the mouth creating a pleasant effect. The depth in the flavours of oak gives it a rich and complex structure at the end.

Conclusion:
Macallan Edition No 1 is a great expression if you are a fan of oaky sherry whisky. The price point is very high and for a lot of people unfortunately out of reach. It is relatively hard to find in most markets but if you ever get the chance, don’t hesitate and grab a bottle. You will enjoy it. Also its a very good investment.
