Nose:
A very floral and grassy single malt. Lots of citrus, green apple, caramel and vanilla aromas. Some noticeable stone fruits like mango and peach. Also a hint of tropical fruits like pineapple, banana and coconut.
-
Palate:
Smooth and silky mouthfeel. The alchohol strength feel just right and the flavors come at you with citrus, caramel, vanilla and sweet pineapple, peaches and ripe mango. Some wood spices and oak maturation noticeable on the palate as well.
-
Finish:
Medium, with vanilla and citrus. A hint of oak bitterness and spices at the end.
-
Conclusion:
A decent and remarkable 12 year old single malt by Balblair. I like the higher alcohol strength in this 12 year old, it give a fuller and better mouthfeel. This expresion also gives you lots of floral and citrus notes but also gives you some dept with tropical and stone fruits flavors ending in wood spices and bitterness. All and all a good price and quality ratio.
