Four Roses 1 liter is known as an extremely versatile bourbon whiskey with a special character. This character is the result of a idiosyncratic working method that is followed in Kentucky. Normally producers use a solid ‘grain mash’ (= the mix of grains in the production process) to make whiskey, but at Four Roses they do this slightly differently.

They use not one, but two different grain mixtures from which they ultimately make different distillates. They then combine these distillates, resulting in each batch of Four Roses containing 1 liter of unique characteristics. However, smooth and accessible flavors always form the basis. A nice detail is that all whiskey used has been matured for between five and six years in new American oak barrels.
