Nose:
Starts of with dark sherries with red forest berries. Citrus fruits like organs peels and herbs. Also some wood spices on the nose with ripe bananas, cloves, honey and delicate smoke.
-
Palate:
The dark fruits like sherries, blackberries, plum, citrus notes and dryness comes true on the palate. Lingering vanilla, caramel, honey and wood spices in combination with a mix of nuts. The wood spices contain some cloves, tobacco, leather. In the back and middle palate some more chocolate, dates and coffee with hints of smoke.
-
Finish:
A medium long dry finish with sherry, smoke coffee and wood spices.
-
Conclusion:
Great NAS by Highland Park. Well balanced smoke and sherry. This expression will get better with some oxidization, you will notice some sulfur but this will fade with time and some air.
