Its starts off with rich mouth-coating oils and aromas of: orange peal, sherry and delicate peated smoke and develops into burned oak wood , dried fruits, burned coffee beans, spices, honey, marzipan, and caramel.
-
Finish:
Long finish with cinnamon spices, burned wood, a bit of honey and sour cherries ending in balanced peat flavors.
-
Conclusion:
This whisky received a award for whisky of the year and this is something i agree with. Its complex, full bodied, sits well on the palate and finishes strong. The subtle citrus and wood aromas are well balanced and there is enough debt to experience lots of other aromas. This award winning 18 years old comes at a bit higher cost then other 18 year old whisky. But you will get what you are paying for.
