Taste note
-
Colour:
Deep amber
-
Nose:
Curious and slightly sharp, with the classic Marsala top-note of slightly oxidised fruits. Hints of orange toffee intermingles with a fragrant top note of lavender honey and sweet rose.
-
Palate:
A juicy viscous, but slightly peppery mouthfeel, leads in to a burst of sweet, nutty flavours – coco powder, red pepper, brazil nut toffee and sweet barley malt.
-
Finish:
Sweet demerara sugar and a long lingering spicy aftertaste of clove, ginger and cinnamon.
-
Conclusion:
A winter limited edition by Glenmorangie based on the American and British winter sweaters. The Masala wine casks always delivers sweet and red fruity flavors. This is noticeable but the finish was short so not overpowering Masala flavors. The 13 year old matured in Ex-Bourbon cask are dominant and present on the nose and palate. For a 13 year old limited edition a bit too expensive. But its the same price as the tale of cake so I expected it to be this price.
