The Cley Distillery, on the Kleiweg in Rotterdam, makes both whisky and gin based on the Dutch distilling tradition developed in the 17th century. Cley uses exclusively organic raw materials from the region. Distiller Paul den Dulk knows how to give the products their own character with his extensive experience in the world of flavors.

This whisky, made from locally purchased barley malt, has been distilled three times. Matured in bourbon barrels, finished on Oloroso casks.

Tasting note: The nose opens with seductive aromas of cocoa, sweet oak, brown sugar, blackcurrants and a hint of sherry. The interplay of these scents provides a rich and inviting start. At the first sip, this whiskey reveals its powerful and spicy character. The taste buds are treated to an explosion of red and purple fruits, with hints of cloves and a subtle touch of ginger. The taste is lively and provides an exciting and satisfying experience. The aftertaste is long and complex. Licorice and rich sherry bitters blend harmoniously, creating a deep and satisfying flavor. Notes of hazelnut add a delicious creaminess, while spicy coffee pampers the senses.
