This whisky tells a different story of The Macallan spirit and casks, but more than that it tells a story of rarity. Less than 100 casks maturing at The Macallan distillery have contributed to the creation of this out of character whisky. These mysterious casks remained untouched in the dark warehouses of The Macallan under the watchful eye of our Master Whisky Maker, until he felt they were ready to be released.
Smoky Macallan is rare – there is very little in existence – and once used these casks will be no more. Unexpected and distinctive in flavour with full bodied richness from the Macallan spirit, Rare Cask Black is an unusual smoky spirit that tells a story of creativity and innovation.

The Macallan 50 year old
The Macallan 50 years old was created at a time when the distillery had the future in mind. By increasing the number of curiously small stills that help to concentrate the ‘new make’ spirit, the foundations were established that ensure the full-bodied, rich and fruity flavours and characteristic of our single malts today.
Matured in a single hand-crafted European sherry oak butt, the new make spirit was then left to mature slowly and quietly for at least fifty long years. During those decades of slumber, the ancient wood shaped the spirit – delivering the greatest contribution to the character, natural color, distinctive aromas and full flavors at the heart of this single malt. The result is a rich and complex whisky of vibrant amber natural colour with flavours of vanilla, spices and fresh fruits and a subtle peat background.

The Macallan Royal marriage
This highly sought after Speyside malt was distilled and bottled by The Macallan to commemorate the wedding of HRH Prince William to Catherine Middleton on the 29th April 2011.
Macallan selected two casks, filled on the 29th April 1996 and 1999, and married them to create this celebratory bottling, whilst also commissioning the creative genius behind the 1981 Royal Marriage bottling, David Holmes, to create the label and packaging design.
This is one of just 1,000 bottles released for this momentous occasion that comes in great condition and complete with original presentation case.

The Macallan 60 years old
A marriage of whiskies distilled in 1948 and 1961, the years that Prince Charles and Lady Diana were born. It was bottled and released in 1981, of course, the year of the Royal wedding.

The Macallan 60 years old
The Macallan is rightly considered by aficionados as the most highly collectible whisky, producing stunning examples of cask-matured single malts from Speyside, particularly their highly prized and exceedingly rare single-cask, limited edition bottlings and Fine & Rare Collection.
Hand-painted by Irish artist Michael Dillon, famous for his historical decorations. The bottle painting was commissioned and offered for sale through Fortnum & Mason in London in 1999. Christie’s are delighted to be offering this unique Macallan 1926 60-Year-Old Michael Dillon bottle, which is unquestionably the ‘Holy Grail’ for whisky collectors as it is truly one-of-a-kind.
The bottle which beautifully depicts the Easter Elchies House of The Macallan and the Scottish Highlands is offered in a luxurious “The Macallan 60 Year Old” wooden presentation case with a certificate of authenticity from The Macallan.
