The Macallan Classic Cut a new series of annual limited releases that celebrate their ongoing commitment to seek out the extraordinary and in doing so, create whiskies of unique character. Offering a special take on The Macallan, this whisky offers an indulgent character with a satisfyingly long finish. The Macallan used cask strength whisky that was maturated in sherry seasoned oak cask from Jerez, Spain.
Classic cut - 2017 edition
The first in a new series of annual releases, The Macallan Classic Cut – 2017 Release has been created to reveal a unique character and timeless spirit. Matured exclusively in hand-picked sherry seasoned American and European oak casks from Jerez, Spain and then bottled to perfectly unlock its unique flavour profile, this limited release offers a special and memorable take on The Macallan. With its combination of flavours of caramel, orange zest and nutmeg spice, and a satisfyingly long finish, the result is an indulgent single malt whisky with a sweet and spicy character.

The second edition in the limited annual series, The Macallan Classic Cut – 2018 Edition has an ABV of 51.2% chosen by the Whisky Maker Ian Morrison as the optimum strength to reveal a dominant sweetness and the well balanced flavours delivered by the exceptional Sherry Oak Casks. After allowing to breathe for 10-15 minutes, heightened flavours of citrus, sweet vanilla and spice come to the forefront, combined with a satisfyingly long dry oak finish. Classic Cut 2018 is a truly indulgent single malt whisky.

The third edition in the limited annual series, The Macallan Classic Cut – 2019 Edition has an ideal ABV of 52.9% to bring forth the full character of the single malt. This has been chosen by the Whisky Maker Polly Logan as the optimum strength to reveal a dominant sweetness and the well balanced flavours of this whisky. To truly appreciate the complex flavour dimensions, pour and allow it to breathe for 10-15 minutes for an intensified experience. After this time, heightened flavours of orange, sweet ginger and vanilla come to the forefront, combined with a satisfyingly long finish. Classic Cut 2019 is a truly indulgent single malt whisky.
